Owning an American muscle car can be a transcending experience! For those lucky enough to possess one, the look of the vehicle is often just as important as the ride. When a customer recently brought us ideas on how to restyle his 2015 Mustang GT with a unique, new stripe kit, we were excited to get started!

Our customer, Michael, had only owned his Mustang for a few weeks, and he loved the way the body looked as well as how it handled. But he wasn’t fully happy with the color of the car. He wanted to tone down the yellow paint without the expense of a new paint job or a full coverage color change vehicle wrap. He also wanted to add a touch of his personality to the car. He contacted us to see if we could help accomplish his vision.

Our in-house vehicle wrap designer, Alex Pennebaker, worked with Michael to come up with a custom stripe kit design. During their initial meeting, Michael showed Alex images of similar cars with stripe kits that he liked. After looking through Michael’s favorites, they collaboratively decided to incorporate full coverage on the hood, roof and trunk into the design.

Once the design phase was complete and the materials were ordered and received, our team was ready to get started! Our professional installers began by wrapping the hood, roof, and trunk with Avery black carbon fiber vinyl.

Our team also wrapped the mirrors in matching black carbon fiber vinyl as well as the face of the trunk. We covered the GT trunk emblem in red satin vinyl to make it really stand out!

Alex applied carbon fiber vinyl to the face of the trunk, as well as red satin vinyl to the GT emblem.

Next, we installed satin black vinyl down the center of the car from the hood to the trunk. This added a nice visual break in the carbon fiber. To complete the look, we continued the black carbon fiber vinyl and satin black vinyl on the front and rear bumpers.

We then carefully measured and placed 3M matte satin red stripes down the crease where the satin black vinyl and carbon fiber met on the hood, roof, trunk and front and rear bumpers. A custom yellow stripe was also installed as a center accent that extended from the front to the rear of the Mustang.

As a final added touch, we applied black and red satin stripes on both side doors with a custom number 302 in metallic red. The “302” represents the Mustang’s motor size in cubic inches.

We love the beautiful result of the custom stripe kit on this yellow 2015 Mustang GT!

As you can see, the final result of this custom stripe kit design was stunning. Michael was truly impressed and excited when saw his new Mustang for the first time! And he wasn’t the only one. We are always thrilled to see how a vehicle can be transformed from ordinary to extraordinary with high performance vinyl.
