Lobby signs and Window Graphics for Merit Laboratory Partners

Merit Laboratory Partners in Franklin, TN called on us to make them some awesome interior signage for them this last month! We had made them an acrylic lobby sign with studded brushed aluminum letters before, and this time we were able to enhance the old sign by adding color to some of the metal blocks in the beaker graphic of their logo.

Before and after adding vinyl to color the metal blocks.

Because they moved and expanded to a larger location, in addition to adding a pop of color to their old 6'X18" sign, we copied the design to make them an even larger 8'X24" version for their lobby. It's not easy to put studded aluminum letters and graphics onto a clear acrylic backer, but we're really happy that we did it because it looks great! It's difficult to pull this off because studded metal letters normally would go straight into the wall. That means that you could normally use any kind of glue or epoxy because it wouldn't be seen, and you don't have to have a perfect hole. When putting the metal letters into a clear lens like this acrylic, however, it's more difficult to make everything look seamless and to have a nice finish.

In the process of attaching the studded metal letters to the acrylic backer.

To protect the clear acrylic from debris, scratches, and finger prints, we left the blue transfer paper over the acrylic while drilling in the holes and attaching the studs. That made it a little tricky to peel the protective paper off, but it was worth it to keep the face of the sign pristine for Merit Laboratory Partners!

In addition to the acrylic and metal signs, we also put up some vinyl graphics on the glass doors of their lobby. We used vinyl in the same colors as the metal color blocks of the dimensional sign in the lobby and used frosted etch vinyl for the giant graphic of a beaker, the suite number, and the company name.

Vinyl is a great way to further emphasize and promote your company's branding throughout your office space! The frosted or etched look in particular is a great way to put your logo on more things or even create privacy for your office.
