4 Ways a Custom Architectural Display Can Liven Up Your Workspace

Posted on February 01, 2018 | Posted by Kris Williamson

Occasionally, we’re asked to take on sign projects that are anything but typical. Customers often ask us to design and fabricate something unique and exciting that highlights their brand, special projects or employee acknowledgements, and even product information. That’s when we suggest a custom architectural display system. These one-of-a-kind works of art can be used to liven up your workspace in a variety of ways!

Architectural displays are created using hardware elements, such as stainless steel rods, truss assemblies, standoffs, tensioned cables, and acrylic panels or pockets (for images and documents). Structural displays are not only functional, they’re also custom-designed pieces of art, specially designed for each client.

Here are four different uses for architectural displays:

1. Logo Signs

Looking for a way to make a great first impression? An architectural display is a fantastic option for a logo sign for your main desk or lobby area. Visitors will immediately take notice of your logo when it’s presented in an eye-catching, one-of-a-kind display!

Here’s a cool logo sign we created for Morris Light & Sound, in Nashville, TN. We created this display a few years ago using black truss assemblies, tensioned cables, and non-glare acrylic panels. We recently refreshed the acrylic panels to reflect a change in the Morris logo, but the rest of the structure remained the same. We love the dynamic look of this versatile display!

Tensioned display systems are another form of architectural displays. As you can see in the next photo, we designed and fabricated a large collection of small brand signs for Accella Performance Materials’ Training Center in Las Vegas. These logo signs were beautifully displayed using cables that are tightly secured to the wall with mounting brackets. These types of cable systems can also be used to display photos, menus, works of art, and even for more creative uses.

2. Corporate Timeline Display

If your company has been in business for several years, then an architectural display is a perfect way to showcase your company’s history. Timelines often contain a combination of dates, photographs, logos, and descriptions. A custom-designed architectural display can add depth and interest to those elements using a variety of materials.

We created this 14’ wide timeline for Hunt Brothers Pizza. This display was created to show the history of the family-owned and operated business. We used wall vinyl, laser cut acrylic and aluminum standoffs to create this timeline display. 3. Employee Recognition or Artist Display

Architectural displays offer a great solution for highlighting employees or artists. In this example, we designed and fabricated a custom display system that showcases several of the musical artists that are represented by First Company Management, in Franklin, TN. This 10’ wide structural display system was created using wooden boards, truss assemblies, cables, channel bars, and acrylic display panels. This piece of art definitely grabs attention!

4. Location Display

If your company does business in multiple cities, states or countries, then an architectural display system is a great way to highlight those locations. We created this display for Hunt Bothers to show locations served by DBH Distributing, as well as some additional history and other information about the company. We used wall vinyl material, laser cut acrylic and standoffs to create this striking location display.

As you can see, architectural displays offer companies and organizations a great way to stand out from the crowd! They are custom-designed … each one is unique and custom-tailored to meet a client’s specific needs. They can also be designed to compliment your company’s branded interior.
