12-Point SignWorks' Signage Projects Of The Week

12-Point SignWorks IS Our Latest Project of the Week!

Posted on September 08, 2015 | Posted by Kris Williamson

We've made a lot of changes in our 12-Point SignWorks shop, and we are just too happy about them not to share. If you've been in to see us since our expansion last year, you've probably left thinking, "It looks like they're still moving into this renovated space." Yes, we know. We've been so busy that we just never had the time to really organize all of our stuff. Recently, we made that time!

Even better, we took the time to rearrange, organize and improve while our hard-working, non-stop owner, Murray, was out-of-town. That may sound bold, brazen or simply crazy. What if he hated it? (Yes, we did wonder about that!) For our own safety (and job protection), we didn't touch his office. We aren't that daring!

We started the project by moving our people. We shifted our designers and our 12-Point Media staff into our main lobby area. Lucky for them, we have these wonderful dividers that give them some privacy while they create the magic for 12-Point. If you stop by, I want to let you know that they may or may not love it when you pop your head over the top of the partition and surprise them. (So it may be more "may not" love it, but you can give it a try!)

An update to our 12-Point SignWorks lobby in Franklin, TN.

The shift in furniture and people worked out perfectly in the large space of our lobby! We still have ample room for meetings. Stay tuned for more updates when we have wall murals and other signage on the walls!

Here is another corner in our lobby area. The architectural display is a sample from a project we did for Page High School's cafeteria.

Once we had the desks moved out of the printing room, our team really started working! One big project involved moving all of the equipment into one place. We like to call this Josh's Lair. OK, maybe I just call it that! Josh is our numero uno when it comes to all things printing, and now he has all of the tools he needs in one place.

Our biggest obstacle for this arrangement involved the rolls of material that we have on-hand. Luckily, we already had a solution in mind! The guys designed and created these material racks to get all of our material out of the way but in full view. This allows Josh to see everything we have and to know what we need. It's created so much space that we were able to fit a work table in the room for him as well! We still have some racks to make to complete the project, but it's looking pretty fantastic. When you visit, please say hello to King Josh in his lair. :)

Our new system for organizing and displaying our material rolls at 12-Point SignWorks.

Here's a little sample of what our material racks look like. They've taken all of our rolls off of the ground - where they sometimes toppled like dominoes - and put them up where we can see and easily access them!

Our next project involved getting the back of the shop in order. It's amazing how many vehicles we now can fit back there! One huge help was getting some of our tools off of the ground. Here's a little peak...

We got our ladders out of the way to make room for more vehicles! 12-Point SignWorks

It's amazing how much room we opened up just by getting our ladders off of the ground!

We never would have imagined fitting our assembled scaffolding in the back. Now we can - with room to spare!

This Ed's Supply truck fits in our shop with ease! 12-Point SignWorks

We can fit larger trucks and trailers into our shop with ease now that our rolling work tables have places tucked out of the way. Before, we needed to make adjustments each time the big vehicles came in. Not anymore!

The guys did a fabulous job on the project, and we are proud to share it with you! Stop by and take a look when you have a chance. Now we have more space to work on our custom signage projects and vehicle wraps. We are happy to report that Murray was very surprised and thrilled by the changes. Phew! A definite win-win all around!
