Although our day-to-day wrap projects tend to involve moving objects with four or more tires, we also have opportunities to install vinyl on lots of other unique items. (This definitely makes every day different and exciting here at 12-Point!) Just so you don't think we get stuck in a rut, here are 5 of our all-time favorite vinyl wraps that aren't on cars.
1. Cooler Wraps
We've designed and installed custom vinyl wraps on a giant, freestanding restaurant cooler and a freezer trailer full of delicious bison meat. In both cases, the coolers had textured surfaces that made the installation of the material a little more time consuming; however, the results are stunning. Sam's Sports Grill at the Cove and Red Cedar Bison provided us with high res photos that contributed to the gorgeous quality of the graphics in these wraps. They instantly transform plain coolers (filled with deliciousness) into displays that showcase what they have inside.
2. Giant Checks
Haven't you always wanted to win a cash prize so large that it was presented to you on a giant check? (Okay, maybe that's just me!) We've created ginormous checks for many different businesses - from simple white vinyl with logos to custom designed camouflage checks for an off-road park. Many giant checks are used one time and gifted to a contest winner or the recipient of a donation. For these checks, digitally printed vinyl is mounted onto foam board. If the check will be reused, we can digitally print the check with a dry erasable gloss laminate so that the different details on the check can be changed for each occasion. For extra durability, we mount the vinyl on an aluminum composite panel (ACP). ACP is thin and relatively light so it is easy to hold for photo ops and keeps its shape after repeated uses. If you want to create a giant check for a contest, a loved one or even just to say you have one, let us know how we can help. Honestly, they are just fun to make, and I imagine they're even more fun to receive!
3. Desk Wraps
We stay quite busy working on signage projects for our amazing customers, but every so often we find some extra time to create something for 12-Point. With some of the extra vibrant vinyl colors we had in our shop, we wrapped three of our office desks and work stations. It's amazing how something so simple can liven up a work environment. Since the desks have flat (and non-textured) surfaces, the installation of the vinyl was a breeze. We even added some textured vinyl sections to serve as mouse pads since computer mice don't work well on smooth, reflective surfaces like wrap vinyl. Luckily, we get to enjoy these wraps every single day!
4. Custom Cranial Orthotic Helmet Wraps
Just so you know, these five favorites are not listed in any particular order. I say that because the cranial orthotic helmet wraps are most definitely #1 on my list. These custom vinyl wraps are so very special...for a number of reasons.
- They are extremely specialized. Each helmet is designed specifically for the child who wears it. (This is before the wrap even exists!) Then we make a custom template from the helmet and design the wrap to fit.
- The wrap design is made for the child...and the parents! The cute little people wearing the helmets don't know how adorable they look. We add the touches that are meaningful to the families. Both of the helmets shown here have a similar aviator theme, but they are customized to include specifics for each family.
- They make us happy. Look at this smiling face, and I know you will agree. (Number one, right?!)
5. "Steampunk" Baby Grand Piano Wrap
Piano wraps, no matter the design, have a beautiful elegance to them. With all of the lines, curves and angles of a piano, installing a wrap on one takes time, patience, attention to detail and mad skills. (Luckily, our installers have all of these characteristics!) This baby grand piano with a steampunk wrap design is one of our favorites. Not only did the wrap design have a distressed, aged metal look, it also had lighting and moving parts! Even better, this piano traveled with a touring artist so hundreds of thousands of people saw the finished product. We enjoyed working with Seale Keyworks of Franklin on this project.
