7 types of custom signage that every new church needs

Posted on June 27, 2011 | Posted by Katelyn Johns

Recently we've noticed lots of new churches popping up all over middle Tennessee! Even more prominent are the many different signs that the churches use to advertise in order to draw more people to their congregations. We have some suggestions on what kind of signage you'll need to draw people to your congregation!

1. Temporary banners - Temporary banners can be put out on street corners or in front of your new building. Bright colors and bold letters make your sign stand out and attract everyone passing by.

2. Temporary lawn signs  - these are also a great way to advertise your new church. You can customize the lawn signs by putting your church logo and message on it so people will recognize your church. The more lawn signs, the more visibility, the greater number of impressions!

3. Outdoor posters - Some types of outdoor posters are waterproof so they won't get ruined by any foul weather. That way, you'll be able to have them up for a while.

4. Vinyl wall graphics - Don't go with the handwritten quote on the blackboard - get vinyl lettering to make your favorite Bible verse really stand out! Inspirational wall quotes are becoming increasingly popular. 12-Point SignWorks has the ability to put any kind of font and letter size on the wall using vinyl graphics. Vinyl lettering and graphics can make a boring sunday school wall look great! You can also label things like the information desk with vinyl letters and graphics. Harpeth Community Church's lobby:

5.Directional signage - You will need directional signage within the building and outside the building. New visitors and potential permanent members of the congregation will want to know which way the sunday school room is, which way the information desk is, where parking is, and especially which way the restrooms are! Choosing to go with more modern, 3D directional signage is a great idea for a new building.

6. Wall coverings and graphics - Another type of signage that is becoming increasingly popular are wall graphics and wall coverings. No matter what style your church will be - traditional or modern - wall wraps can transform any room to fit your style and your logo.

7. Monument signs - To look both professional and welcoming, monument signs make a big impression on people passing by. You can put your church symbol or logo on the face of the monument sign, with dimensional letters of your church's name. The final result looks wonderful!
