An increasingly popular way to get fast food is through food and catering trucks and vans. What a great way to mobilize your business! Recently we've seen a lot of food and catering trucks driving around Nashville and Franklin, all with promises all delicous eats and treats. But no one will know what you're all about unless you have custom graphics to send your message to the public. We've got tips, tricks, and examples for your on-the-road catering busines.
If your van is a solid color, like white, you don't need to get a full vehicle wrap. You save a lot of money just by using fun custom graphics! Tilly's Cafe & Bakery on Wheels was a solid white color. We added vinyl graphics of their logo and company information on the sides, front, and back. If your van or truck is a neutral solid color like white, the vinyl graphics should be bright and bold, designed to catch the eye.
Tilly's Cafe & Bakery on Wheels' custom decals: The bright green logo with the bold red cherries really stand out against the white van. The website is in a simple, clear font and it is close the the logo: the perfect recipe for success!
Here's another great example of installing vehicle graphic on a white catering truck. Mere Bulles' vehicle can be turned either way for 2 different styles using their custom graphics!
A hint on advertising: if you have a phone number and a website for your catering business, be sure to include both on the vehicle! A clear simple website url is easy for people remember if they see your vehicle so they can visit your site later. Remember though, if you'd rather have people call, make the phone number the biggest and most visible. The same applies to your website - make sure your preferred method of contact is the easiest for people to see.
An ingenious idea - for the sides of Tilly's truck, we used a vinyl laminate material that can be written on with temporary marker and then wiped off, like a dry erase board. The result? Tilly can write the day's menu right on the van and change it the next day!
The Cafe Items menu can be changed when Tilly writes on her van with a specific type of temporary marker. Cool!
