When approached by Glenn’s Prescription Center to help them tackle their Scion xB vehicle wrap project, we immediately were able to play on the fact that as a promotional vehicle, the Scion line of vehicles are one of the best platforms for fleet, and promotional graphics. Simply a rolling billboard by design, the surface area proves viable for the application of vinyl graphics, and has enough space to display logos, information, and visually appealing artwork.
Glenn’s Prescription Center wanted to clearly advertise that they offer free delivery for their customers. One of the client’s purposes in getting the car wrap was because of a competitor who showed up in town with a “free delivery” service. Well, Glenn’s had always offered free delivery but just hadn’t advertised it. To combat the newcomer’s marketing, Glenn’s chose to do the vehicle wrap as “mobile advertising” for the pharmacy and their delivery service as they drive between their two stores.
With the original color of the car being white, the concept was to change the overall color to the blue you see now. Given the advances in wrap technology, the contours, vents, and concaves are able to be covered and wrapped with better adhesion than in the past. Unlike the Nissan Cube Wrap we did for Apples Gone Wild, where just the sides and rear were wrapped, this Scion was completely covered, including the roof, the front and rear bumpers, and side skirts. This full wrap allows the customer to have endless possibilities in colorways, and design. Glenn’s went so far as to even put rockets on the roof in honor of the local High School, to show pride and service to the community in which it serves.
The finished product as shown came out extremely well, and the customer was happy with the design and quality of install. We even got a testimonial from Steve Glenn, who said, “We’re thrilled with it!” and they expressed that people have asked them if it was a paint job, instead of a vehicle wrap. That’s two great compliments to receive, especially when the car is covered seamlessly in vinyl, making it look like paint.
Quite a bit of planning goes into making the vehicle wrap flow when doing a full coverage wrap, mainly because logos need to flow over from panel to panel, and integrate with the whole car. Much more recognizeable than the standard white Scion, and much more comprehensive than cut-vinyl graphics, this Scion xB wrap proved to be a cool, fun, and unique project for 12-Point SignWorks.
