Using custom vinyl vehicle wraps to transform your work and fleet vehicles into "rolling billboards" is no new concept, and we've written about it a few times now. But more often than not, companies don't take advantage of the full effect that fleet graphics can achieve; they might use some digitally printed logos and cut vinyl on their vehicles to advertise where they can on the sides of the vehicle, hood, windows, etc. But a very effective way to really make your marketing message prominent is to have your fleet vehicles all wrapped in a similar theme - and this can really make your fleet stand out! An advantage of wrapping a vehicle is that the design can be translated to any model with a few design modifications. Your parts or service van or shuttle can have the same graphics theme and package as your smaller company passenger car or truck.
The use of bright colors and high-impact visual graphics with good contrast can create a simple, clean fleet wrap design that becomes easily recognizable even across multiple vehicle types. We can wrap a fleet vehicle in a solid color as if it were a color change car wrap, but then we add secondary graphics such as the white lettering and black license plate logo shown in the Freeland Chevrolet fleet wraps picture collage above. We can even do some parts of the secondary in temporary materials, so that you can change out these promotional sections to accomodate this month/quarter's specials or promotions. If something like this is desired, we simply integrate the concept into the fleet wrap design and allow the area of the wrap to be the promotional section. This makes it convienient for business owners to order just a new promo decal to replace the old one without ruining the full wrap applied underneath.
Fleet vehicle wraps certainly do help bring in new business and leads. Recently, we released an article that breaks down the value of fleet and vehicle graphics as seen through consumer response. You'll read how fleet graphics and wraps can increase your company's exposure and positively influence consumer buying decisions.
We find that the best way to determine which design approach and wrap style is best for your marketing objectives is to begin with a simple design activity. This allows you and your company to spend time with the wrap designers and develop the right look and feel of your wraps. This design activity will help you budget your overall project as well. Wether it's a full wrap, partial wrap, or a custom wrap, the design process helps determine and maximize the information and impact in the space provided for your budget.
