It's still quite common to find two-color police cars that have been painted to achieve the familiar black and white look. Savvy police vehicle fleet managers, however, have learned that partial wraps can transform an all-black or an all-white vehicle into a two-color vehicle. Once the vehicles have reached the end of their service life, the partial wrap and additional lettering can be removed. With some buffing and detailing, the cars will be more valuable for resale than in the case of painted vehicles.
Air-release car wrap vinyl aids in the installation of both color change wraps as well as digitally printed wraps. In the case of police vehicles, the color change vinyl material is wide enough to span the entire roof or hood without requiring any seams.
Reflective and non-reflective graphics can be added as secondary elements on top of the wrap vinyl and on other vehicle body locations as required.
The wrap vinyl also provides some amount of paint protection against abrasion in the areas that are wrapped. If something scratches the vinyl but doesn't penetrate deeply enough to scratch the paint, the vinyl simply needs to be replaced in order to restore that area of the vehicle to "good as new" condition.
Partial car wraps with color change vinyl is also often used for private vehicles to accent certain parts of a client's vehicle. For example, we frequently wrap hoods and roofs with black wrap vinyl (gloss or matte) to make an older car look more like vehicle paint schemes offered on newer vehicles.
So, whether you're looking to create police or emergency vehicle graphics, or whether you simply want a unique look for your personal car, partial vehicle wraps can provide an effective means of transforming your car without the resale penalty associated with repainting the vehicle.
