Can car wraps and vehicle wraps use pictures in the wrap design?

Car wraps and vehicle wraps are designed to get attention, and depending on the marketing message built into the wrap design, actual photographic pictures and images can be used to help communicate the message.  The old adage "A picture is worth a thousand words" can help simplify a wrap design by reducing the amount of text required to communicate the intended message.

Take the van wrap design pictured above for Avalon Acres, for example.  It was very important to the farm that potential clients be able to connect visually with their tag line "From our Farms ... to Your Family".  Because much of the produce grown on their farms come from a rural area in TN largely farmed by the Amish, we incorporated a high resolution image of a farmer manually hoeing rows of vegetables.  We then blended into the wrap design layout a full-color, family-friendly photo with an adult hand providing food to a happy (and hungry!) toddler.

The message of "healthy, good-for-you, makes-you-happy food" is reinforced by the client's image choice for the back of the van wrap design.  Doesn't that juicy red strawberry in the child's hand look delicious?

The high resolution printing capabilites of our large format printer make it possible for us to print graphics with great color and resolution.  Of course, we have to start with good pictures that are also high resolution!

Often we'll have clients ask us to simply take their logo or pictures from their website.  That approach would be fine if we were only printing at the same size as your monitor screen, but when we have to scale up those web images to the size needed for most signs and vehicle graphics, the low resolution web images quickly reveal their weaknesses (the pictures can turn out to be blurry and jagged).

Our wrap design tools also allow us to combine both photographic and non-photo "drawing" artwork.  For example, the wrap design for the "Apples Gone Wild" Nissan Cube car wrap incorporated the company logo and other fun, colorful text as well as high resolution pictures of some great-tasting, visually-appealing dipped apples to show the candied textures.

So, when you're considering what to include in your next car wrap design (or van or truck, or whichever type of vehicle wrap you're pursuing), don't hesitate to offer your wrap designer some of your product photos or to suggest the type of pictures that will best support your marketing message.
