When it comes to understanding the costs of custom logo signs, it might be just as "helpful" to ask "how much does a shirt cost?" Well, most of us have had experience with the "cheap" shirt (you know, the one that shrank 2 sizes and faded from red to pink in one wash/dry cycle!). And from there, the options (and the associated costs) are essentially limitless.
And so it goes in the world of commercial signage when it comes to custom logo signs that help our customers stand out - we've made them from simple (a few hundred dollars) to exquisite (tens of thousands of dollars).
A simple logo sign: acrylic dimensional letters, vinyl applique' on brushed metal sign panel
A complex 3D logo sign serving as a brand wall lobby statement piece
In general, we usually see logo sign projects ranging in cost from approximately $350 - $2500.
What factors play in to the cost of a custom logo sign?
- Size of the sign layout
- Dimensionality desired (how thick the components are)
- Materials (acrylics, metals, glass, wood, masonry, vinyl, etc.)
- Installation requirements (type of wall, location, height, whether electricity is required, etc.)
- Design requirements (do you already have a logo, and what type of image files do you have for the logo? do you need help designing a logo?)
- Are standard colors acceptable, or do you need us to custom paint the sign components?
- Complexity of shapes within the logo design
- Do you have this type of sign already in another facility that you simply want to imitate, or are you looking for something new?
- Do you have a particular size in mind for this sign? How large is the wall it will be placed on?
- What is the wall like that you want to apply the sign to? Drywall, masonry, other? Assuming it is a painted surface, what is the paint like (gloss level, age, texture)?
- What kind of finish (metallic, painted, etc.) do you want the sign to have?
- Do you want the logo fastened directly to the wall as individual pieces or to an attractive sign panel (metallic, wood, acrylic) that is fastened to the wall?
- What file types do you have for your logo? We’ll ultimately need what is called “vector” or “line” art, which typically will be in an EPS, AI, or sometimes PDF format. Even these formats, though, can be incorrectly used to publish non-vector material.
- Do you have a brand specification that calls out the particular PMS colors to be used in the logo?
- What budget do you have in mind for the project? There is a wide variety of materials to select from for creative signage, and given other things we can adjust in the sign to affect cost (material size, thickness), we want to make sure we’re providing you with options that will fit your budget.
