We were recently able to help out J.T. Moore Middle School located in Nashville, TN by making them a banner advertising a contest they've entered through Bridgestone. Bridgestone is throwing a "Fuel the Cause" sweepstakes contest where they are offering $25,000 dollars to a community that has a plan to transform a green space. You can vote on one of the top 12 proposed projects on their website, including J.T. Moore's!
J.T. Moore is proposing to build a greenhouse and playground on the lawn of their campus. Because about 1/3 of their student body lives below the poverty line, many students do not have access to healthy living practices like fresh produce or places to play. If J.T. Moore wins the money to build the greenhouse and playground, students would grow fruits and vegetables in the green house and learn healthy eating habits, as well as sharing their produce with the surrounding community. The playground will encourage exercise and give kids a place to play outside.
So, fellow Nashvillians, help J.T. Moore and the community by improving our schools!
