Does your building have columns in common areas where visitors and customers gather or pass by? If your answer is yes, then you should consider using column wraps to sell advertising space, for wayfinding, or to market your own brand. Column wraps stand out and are highly noticeable. Here are several ways your columns can be working for you!
Advertising
Larger facilities such as airports, hospitals, and concert arenas attract large crowds. That’s a lot of opportunities to catch the eye of potential customers! People often overlook columns when they’re plain and undecorated, but they definitely notice them when they’re wrapped in colorful graphics. Wrapped columns are often even more noticeable than advertisements on flat walls.
This column wrap for Blake Shelton's new Ole Red restaurant catches the attention of travelers as they pick up their baggage at the Nashville International Airport.
One of the most common places we install column wraps is at the Nashville International Airport. We often install temporary column wraps in common areas, such as baggage claim and at the gates. When used for temporary advertising, we use a high-quality, low-tack adhesive that is strong enough to hold for a short period of time, but can be easily removed with no residue. We can also use a higher-grade vinyl with a stronger adhesive for more permanent installations.
We installed these column wraps for Lyft in the baggage claim area at the Nashville International Airport. You might need a "lyft" when you're leaving the airport, right?
When you're in the Nashville airport, doesn't it seem fitting to see an advertisement for Warner Music? We installed this wall mural of artist photos and column wraps at a gate waiting area.
Sports facilities offer another great opportunity for placing advertising or branding on column wraps. We’ve wrapped columns in sports facilities of every size, from local sports complexes to major league baseball stadiums and large arenas. Here’s a photo of the columns we wrapped at A-Game Sportsplex in Franklin, TN for Locker Room by LIDS. (The LIDS store is no longer at the facility, but two column wraps remain.)

Wayfinding (or Directional) Signage
Column wraps are also perfect for temporary wayfinding signage. If your facility is large and you have a major event planned, have you thought about how your attendees will navigate through your building or campus? We’ve wrapped columns to direct people to registration areas, auditoriums, restrooms, and more. The possibilities are endless!
Here’s an example of a wayfinding column wrap we installed for the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. This project included a large amount of temporary wayfinding signage placed on walls, doors, elevators, columns, floors, glass windows, and more! Columns are a perfect surface to apply wayfinding or directional custom signage. We installed this one for a conference at Vanderbilt University.
For tall buildings in large cities, such as apartment complexes and office buildings, permanent directional signage may be necessary. Instead of a traditional horizontal sign, why not try a tall, vertical sign that will be sure to attract attention? Here’s an example of a vinyl wrap we installed on an exterior column at SkyHouse Nashville to direct people to the building’s leasing office. We used a more permanent, higher-grade vinyl for this installation.
This exterior column wrap was installed to direct people to SkyHouse's leasing office. Notice how the text on this exterior column wrap is vertical.
Branding
Column wraps also provide an excellent opportunity to display your company’s brand. They can include your logo, brand colors, photos of your products or services, your mission statement, and much more!
As you can see, there are many ways that your columns could be working for you. When column wraps are included in a branded environment, they can be especially effective at reinforcing your brand or message.
