St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, and as the old saying goes, “If you’re lucky enough to be Irish… You’re lucky enough!” We’re proud to announce that 12-Point SignWorks is lucky enough to be the official signage provider for Nashville’s first St. Patrick’s Day parade in almost twenty years. The Irish and their descendants have a long history here in Nashville, and the new owners of 12-Point are proud to be a part of that heritage. Pat and Natalie have Irish blood in their veins, but unlike the beer often sold on St. Patrick’s Day, it doesn’t run green!
The Irish Network Nashville (INN) is behind the planning and organization of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade that will take place this Saturday, March 18th. Starting at 10 am in Five Points, the parade will march up Woodland Street and continue throughout the neighborhood. Nashville’s own Vice Mayor, Jim Shulman, will be the Grand Marshall, and the Nashville Firefighters Pipes & Drums will be joining in to herald the Irish celebration with traditional Celtic music as we make our way through Five Points. Other parade participants include the Scott-Ellis School of Irish Dance and the Nashville Gaelic Athletic Club.
The craic won’t stop when the parade ends, either! Renowned folk singer Josh Okeefe will perform at Boston Commons at 11 am, and the Greenwing Band will perform at Beyond the Edge Sports Bar at 1:30 pm. Then head on over to East Nashville Beer Works for their St. Patrick’s Day party at 2 pm. And don’t forget to stop in for a pint at The Lost Paddy on the big day, March 17th! Not only are they the main parade sponsor, but they also have a full day of Irish dancing and live music to keep the celebration going throughout the night.
We are so excited to be a big part of a new tradition, and we look forward to seeing everyone form a sea of green to support the Irish community here in Nashville.
