Rebranding a business can be a daunting task - whether it's for a move, a company merger, or a business overhaul. No matter the reason for the change, our 12-Point SignWorks team can make the process manageable and...dare I say....even fun! We can assist you with every aspect of updating your signage, leading you step-by-step from design to fabrication to installation.
Making a Move
Moving locations can be a headache for everyone involved. With a business, the signage is crucial for notifying customers of the change and advertising the business at the new address. Although some signage may be mobile enough to pack up and take along, other signage needs to be made specific to the new location.
Recently, we worked with Advantage Rent A Car to rebrand their signage after they moved locations at the Nashville International Airport. In addition to the move, they also needed to update their graphics to reflect their merger with E-Z Rent-A-Car. (See more about company mergers below!) Advantage Rent A Car provided the artwork, and we fabricated the materials to update their sign faces, including stall signs, kiosks, and wayfinding signage throughout the rental car facility at the airport
Directional branding helps you get where you need to go as you travel through the Nashville International Airport.
Returning a rented car can be just as confusing as getting it - especially if you are used to seeing Advantage Rent A Car on a different level! This hanging sign leads you where you need to go.
The updates were crucial for Advantage Rent A Car as they made their move to the third floor of the rental car facility. Without the signage, customers wouldn't know where to go to find or return the vehicle they need. You can't use a company that you can't find!
Company Mergers
Mergers happen all the time and, when they do, branding usually changes for one or both companies involved. In the case of Advantage Rent A Car and E-Z Rent-A-Car above, the companies continue to use both logos in their advertising. In other cases, one company takes over the branding for the other.
We assisted with a rebranding project in 2015 for the merger of Conestoga-Rovers & Associates (CRA) and GHD. After a year of transition, the newly combined companies began operating under the GHD name. For the Middle Tennessee office (previously CRA), we created a dimensional metal logo sign to update the space with the GHD logo.
Our Project of the Week post for the GHD overhaul offers more details about this dimensional metal logo sign.
We also fabricated and installed window and door graphics for the interior and exterior of the office. The new signage helped to bring unity to the office and rebrand the space with very simple changes.
Don't forget the windows and doors! These spaces often get overlooked for prime advertising opportunities.
Business Redecorating
Sometimes a prime space for rebranding is right in front of you! Since rebranding is considered the process of changing or updating the image of an organization or product, it means that it can be done at any time. Another definition (courtesy of Wikipedia) is: A marketing strategy in which a new name, term, symbol, design, or combination thereof is created for an established brand with the intention of developing a new, differentiated identity in the minds of consumers, investors, competitors, and other stakeholders.
Because the definitions state that rebranding can be done at any time for any change or update, I like to consider it 'redecorating'. It sounds much more fun!
We dabble in business redecorating quite often in our own office, changing or adding wall murals, updating and advertising a logo design, and showcasing our talented designers and custom signage options that we offer. We also redecorate for businesses in Middle Tennessee (and beyond!).
Our shop changes every now and then!
Recently, we partnered with Loews Hotel and Resorts for a nationwide redecorating project! We started the project in Nashville, at our very own Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. The company wanted to update and brand their 'Heart of House' - the central location of the hotel where all of the action happens (known as 'back of house' in hotel lingo). They wanted a place where their employees could come together and do their work, surrounded by bright, cheerful, uplifting, and motivating environmental graphics.
Wall, door, and window graphics and custom frames make up just a small portion of this transformation! Read more about the redecorating project from our featured Project of the Week post for Loews Vanderbilt Hotel.
We created this fabric map as a way to link all of the hometown locations of the Loews Vanderbilt employees to Nashville. Look closely, and you can see the red string that connects everyone as a family!
We continue to work on these updates at Loews locations around the country. Next stop: ATLANTA!
