Tensioned banner frame systems are designed to display graphics on high-quality banner material within an aluminum extrusion frame. The banner is pulled tight within the frame to create a professional presentation.

This system works great on the flat surfaces of a box truck or trailer. Unlike a custom advertising wrap, there’s no need to worry about the truck’s surface conditions. The banner material is not adhered to the surface like a wrap. The banner sits just above the vehicle’s surface. Depending on how they are cared for, the banners should also remain vibrant and in great condition for up to two years.

The main difference in pricing between tensioned banners and vinyl wraps is the amount of time required for installation. When installing a full-coverage vinyl wrap, our installers must take the time to adhere the vinyl around every rivet, screw, and seam. In addition, the price of the vinyl for a vehicle wrap is higher than the banner material used in a tensioned banner frame system.

Let’s take a look at tensioned banner systems we’ve recently installed on two box trucks:

Giardino Gourmet Salads

Giardino Gourmet Salads, once located in Brentwood TN, is known for serving hand-crafted, great-tasting salads and gourmet menu offerings using the freshest ingredients. The owners (Giardino’s is owned by a brother/sister team) got a great deal on an older truck, but the outside surfaces were in poor shape. The truck still had cracked vinyl from a previous wrap installed with house paint on top. Yikes!

Because of the rough surfaces, a vinyl wrap installation was not an option. The tensioned banner system was the perfect solution, because it covered up all the imperfections at an affordable price. As you can see in the photos below, the truck advertising now appears smooth, even, and perfect from the outside!

Check out the smooth, vibrant appearance of this tensioned banner! Tensioned banners were a perfect solution for this truck, since the surfaces underneath were in very poor condition.

To create this mouth-watering banner, our talented graphic designer used Giardino’s logo, images of Giardino salads and a quinoa bowl, contact information and social media icons. The vibrant banner is duplicated on the other side. Makes you want to eat at Giardino’s, doesn’t it?

Eagle Air Compressors

We also installed stretched vinyl banners on both sides of a large 53’ trailer to advertise Eagle Air Compressors, a product of Wood Industries. The time to install this system was considerably less than it would have been for installing a full-coverage vinyl wrap. The aluminum extrusion frame was screwed to both sides of the trailer and protruded from the sides only 1/2”.

As you can see, tensioned banners are a great alternative to vinyl wrapping, especially when budget or surface conditions are a concern. The graphics can also be easily swapped out just simply by replacing the banner material. That’s another major advantage to tensioned banners!
