The 5 Signs Your Business Can't Live Without

Posted on May 07, 2015 | Posted by Kris Williamson

Okay, maybe it will do just fine without all five of them, but we think these signs do a lot to make a business stand out! Take a quick visual survey of your area to see what types of signage you have. Are you done? Now continue reading to see how your signage falls into the following five categories. Ready. Set. Go!

1. Lobby Signs

The lobby sign is one of the most important branding investments for your company. This is a must for any business that has a space where customers and potential clients come to see you. (If you work from home, you may not need to add a lobby sign to show off your name - unless that's your thing.) No matter how your business or office space is set-up, you want your lobby sign to create the right look for you. Do you have a logo? This is the time to make it really pop so that it's impressive and unforgettable.

2. Window Graphics

Windows are great for letting the sunlight shine through, but they also provide the perfect space for additional advertising and customer communication. You can either use the space to strengthen your brand image or to advertise for a special occasion, discount, service, item or season. The creative opportunities are endless when it comes to window graphics, which can be everything from simple lettering to elaborate decals. Is your business close to a busy road or intersection? Think about how your window graphics can catch the attention of potential visitors just driving by. Have fun with the design!

3. ADA Signage

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires you to label public areas, specific rooms and exit routes and also states design requirements such as color contrast, letter height and use of raised text or Braille. It may seem a little overwhelming to know if you business is compliant, but that's where we can help. A professional designer knows the regulations and will ensure that your signage is compliant. 4. Monument Signs and Exterior Building Signage

When you are giving directions to your business, wouldn't it be nice to tell somebody to look for your beautiful sign outside of your building? Yes! The answer is a resounding YES! Monument signs (or free-standing signs that sit directly on the ground or mounted on a low base) and exterior building signs provide visual markers for pedestrians and motorists to easily locate you. What if it's dark our overcast? Make sure you light it up! The last thing you want is to lose business because somebody can't find where you are located.

5. A-Frame Signs

When you know you will have people walking by your business, A-frame signs provide a powerful marketing tool for you. Have you ever walked down the street and NOT read what's on an A-frame sign? I haven't! A simple stroll on Main Street in historic downtown Franklin offers many opportunities to see the power of the A-frame. From daily lunch specials to sales and business hours, the signs highlight little messages to everyone passing by. A-frames can offer permanent messages (say for directional information or branding), or they can be reusable with removable inserts or writable surfaces.

Does your business signage fall into all five categories? If so, way to go! If you are lacking anywhere or just need something updated, contact us to get started with one of our talented sign makers. (We haven't even mentioned the benefits of vehicle advertising!)
