If you grew up in the 80s (and enjoyed watching action shows like us), you’ll get a kick out of one of our most recent custom vehicle wrap projects! We designed, printed and installed a van wrap for Nissan North America’s (NA) Wholesale Parts Division that would make Mr. T proud. Here’s a look at how we created this cool, custom A-Team replica wrap!

This custom A-Team wrap was truly one of a kind and was designed to be displayed only at the Nissan Fall Dealer Expo in Nashville, TN. 

This project began when we received a call from Justin Miller, Senior Planner of Wholesale Marketing within the Aftersales division of Nissan North America. His team needed a unique custom van wrap for the Nissan Fall Dealer Expo which recently took place at the Opryland Hotel & Convention Center in Nashville, TN.

Justin and his team came up with the idea for an A-Team van when they were inspired by their name: the Wholesale Advantage Program (or WAP Team.) Justin talked with our designer to see if he could create a custom A-Team themed design that would accentuate the “A” in WAP. Our designer was excited to take on the challenge!

Justin’s team wanted one half of the van wrap to be an attention getter with the fun A-Team theme. They wanted the other half to display a customizable template of professionally branded vehicle graphics that local Nissan wholesale dealers can purchase for their Express Parts delivery vans. We think this one-of-a-kind van wrap definitely delivered!

The photo below shows one of our talented team members applying the vinyl wrap to the A-Team side of the van. Notice the attention to detail.

This side of the van was fully covered in printed vinyl.

To give this van an even more authentic A-Team look, we modified a replica of the original spoiler from the A-Team van to fit the smaller Nissan NV200. Our Director of Operations found the spoiler online, however, it was a little too wide. He cut out a section in the middle to make it smaller, re-fabricated it, and then sanded and primed it for a nice finish. We even applied vinyl wrap to cover the spoiler. The image below shows the gradient from white to red on the vinyl as it was being applied on the underside of the spoiler.

We found this replica A-Team spoiler online and modified it to fit the smaller van.

Here’s a look at the completed van from the A-Team side. So what do you think? Pretty cool replica, right? And check out those red wheels!

We have to admit, this might be one of our new favorite advertising wraps! :-)

The next image shows the completed van from the Express Parts Delivery side. Notice how much of the white still shows on this side of the van. The vinyl graphics didn’t cover the majority of the van like the more complete, full-coverage wrap on the other side. These are the graphics that can be customized for any Nissan wholesale dealer that sells Nissan certified parts.

As you can see, this fun design was definitely an attention getter at the expo! We loved the idea that Justin and his team had to publicize the parts delivery van graphics using a split wrap with the A-Team theme on the other side! Very cool!

When asked about the final product, Miller said, “12 Point SignWorks did an outstanding job delivering exactly what we had pictured for the Expo van. They delivered a vehicle that would draw dealers to our booth and create a talking point based on the “A Team” themed side, while at the same time, showing off our practical parts sales messaging on the opposite side. The Wholesale Parts booth had an excellent showing at the Expo, and there is no doubt that the vehicle created much excitement. I’ll definitely be using 12 Point SignWorks for future wrap needs.”
