It's times like this when it's wonderful to be introduced to people making a positive difference in the world. We are thankful that Theresa's Twists reached out to us in October to discuss a full custom wrap for their Lark Elite Concession Trailer. This local non-profit has an inspiring story, and their trailer and bright purple advertising wrap are just the start of a very special journey.
This isn't your ordinary concession trailer. It's Theresa's Twists: Pretzels with a Purpose, and its mission is to make the world a better and more accessible place for those with Asperger's syndrome. If you haven't guessed already, Theresa has Asperger's. She is the mastermind behind the purple concession trailer and the spokesperson for Theresa's Twists - an adventure that has been five years in the making. And...purple is her favorite color.
A student at Middle Tennessee State University, Theresa recently won top prize in the social enterprise category of the Launch Tennessee University Venture Challenge. She used the money she won to purchase the custom concession trailer to sell delicious soft pretzels and other pretzel creations. This is just the first step of her vision. She hopes that this business will provide employment opportunities for other young adults with Asperger's syndrome and will help them learn necessary job training and social skills for future employment.
The wonderful people behind Theresa's Twists (all Theresa's family!) already had the vision for how they wanted the trailer wrap to look. They sent us photos of the concept, and we instructed them in how to transform their ideas into workable art files. Using their provided measurements, we adjusted the artwork to create print files. Part of the adjustment included making sure the purple was just the right shade (Pantone 7663 C).
We digitally printed the design on Avery MPI 1105 cast film with a premium protective gloss UV laminate. We installed the full coverage wrap on every area of the trailer - except the roof.
The purple color is stunning! We love the giant watermarked pretzel in the design.
The purple looks much darker in the shade - but still just as lovely!

We enjoyed watching this project come together and getting to know Theresa's dad. We hope to meet Theresa too! She is an inspiration to us and, I'm sure, to anyone struggling with the limitations of Asperger's syndrome. Theresa is breaking down the stereotype that people with Asperger's are unable to thrive and be successful employees or - like Theresa - employers! In Theresa's own words, she wants "to give them hope!"
