We've had a brief "pause" with our Project of the Week blog posts, and it's time to do a little catch up! Boy, do we have a lot to share! One of our latest projects was for NiteLites of Nashville, a customer of ours since 2011. We've worked on a variety of projects for NiteLites, including advertising vehicle graphics and trailer graphics, ATV graphics, and even custom fittings and branding for two saddlebags. For this project, we branded their Dodge ProMaster Cargo Van with their logo, tagline and contact information.
Although some of our earlier projects with NiteLites included custom graphics using their blue and green brand colors, our more recent projects have reflected their actual business model. (See what I did there with 'reflective'?) Our installations have been on black or nearly black (a.k.a. gray) vehicles and accessories that are like the dark of night. Using lighter materials on top of the dark, we create an image of "lighting the night" with the company graphics.

For the ProMaster, we took their branding to the next level with reflective material that really makes the graphics light up at night...literally. We used white and black reflective vinyl on all sides of the cargo van that look fantastic during the day and stand out even more at night when exposed to any form of lighting.
For the sides and back of the ProMaster Cargo Van, the NiteLites lettering was fabricated from 1/4" thick clear acrylic which was precision cut on our in-house laser. To the lettering, we applied white reflective vinyl. We also plotter cut the website and phone number for the business out of white reflective vinyl that we installed on both sides and the back of the van.
The photo on the left highlights the dimensional letters and how the pop off of the van. On the right, the photo shows how the reflective black glows with just a small addition of direct light.
To add contrast on the van, we used black reflective vinyl for the trees that are part of the NiteLites logo (or the symbol of their combination mark) and the tagline. We also used it for the windshield banner that features their website. Although the graphics in black are subtle during the day, they really pop at night when light hits them. (You can see another example of how the reflective vinyl shines in light on the SYPCOFFEE Mini Cooper by clicking HERE.)
To make all of the custom vehicle graphics stand out, we debadged the ProMaster of any other emblems that could distract from the branding package. Upon pick-up of the van, we already were discussing more projects with Dave Thoma, the owner of NiteLites of Nashville. We look forward to working with them on future projects and know that you would enjoy working with them too - on your outdoor lighting needs. Did you know they even have a coupon on their website?
