This week we found ourselves working with a customer on their golf cart graphic project. This particular cart is used at local sporting events to carry and vend their products. Smoothie King wanted to get a wrap done on the cart to represent their business, and enhance their visual presence at the events they will be attending.
When we first saw the cart, it was in worse shape than we had expected. It’s an older golf cart, and it just was showing the wear. The surface was far too weathered and inadequate to handle any vinyl application. We sat down the the customer, and decided that it would be best for him to take the car, and have it prepped and re-painted. Once we all agreed, our customer took a piece of lime green vinyl we had in the shop, and had the cart painted that color.
Once painted, the cart had to cure for 2 weeks before we could apply any graphics to it. That is the standard rule we follow in here; fresh paint needs 2 weeks to cure before applying graphics on the surface. For this project, we were supplied with images from the company of all their fruits and media materials. We came up with the idea to cover the cart in fresh fruit, and images of the drink cups that they make at the shop. The end result was digitally die-cut graphics, applied to the lime green paint scheme of the refurbished cart. Bright, fun, and noticeable is exactly what we ended up with. If you see the guys at the sporting events, go get a smoothie!
