Custom vehicle wraps on exotic and luxury cars is a growing industry. This particular week, this project proved to push the boundaries of the shop; from installation, time frame, and sheer "wow" factor. It was exciting to see the car in person when it first came in. In fact, it is the official car model for James Bond- so that adds to the cool factor. Our client wanted to have his DBS wrapped in a matte black finish. After a careful inspection of the actual vehicle, the installers began fomulating a plan of attack on the vehicle wrap. The kicker on the job; we had (2) days to do it.
Taking delivery of the car late Wednesday afternoon, we got it all situated in our shop bay, and began cleaning the entire vehicle with alcohol, careful to wipe it down with fabric towels that wouldn't leave swirls or damage the paint. Since this wrap is to look like a paint job, each panel had to be wrapped, seamlessly to simulate matte paint. Meticulously wrapping each fender, faring, side skirt and panel individually the installers worked every inch of vinyl onto the car to be perfectly applied.
The final product made all the long hours and stressful deadlines worth it. Clients who came in and out of the shop over the course of the 2 day project were in awe of the vehicle and job that we did; and in the end, the client was thoroughly impressed, and extremely happy with the job as well. We're proud of the work done, and we look forward to doing more projects of this caliber in the future. An amazing vehicle from the factory, now with a one-off matte finish, sure to catch the eyes of anyone it crosses paths with.
