This week we had a chance to work on a fun custom truck wrap project with a very cool company (pun intended). Retro Sno, a shaved ice vending truck serving the greater Nashville area, approached us with the challenge of bringing their graphic concept to life. After working back and forth with our design team, we collaboratively nailed down the design for the truckand began sourcing the materials and fabricating the graphics for the truck wrap.
During the final design and fabrication time, the owners of the truck had it sent off to be painted the color of a vinyl swatch we had picked to complement the design. While we were handling the graphics end here, the paint shop was covering the truck in a teal coat of paint. We waited 2 weeks for the paint to cure to ensure that the vinyl would adhere well, and we used that time to finish the graphic fabrication.
We first laid down stripes on the truck first using a unique dark aqua vinyl appropriate for vehicle graphics. Bychoosing to digitally print the oversized logos, we were able to produce an eggshell white background and to color match the dark aqua vinyl stripes and red/orange accent as well. Matching the colors was a tedious task, but our expert production and design team were able to nail down a spot-on color match for the digital prints. Once the stripes were all laid on the truck, we applyed the digitally printed logos over the stripes. The white lettering and social media icons are all simple cut vinyl, and the whole package came together really well. The client was extremely happy with the outcome, and we were just as excited to see the project come to life exactly as the rendering showed.
