Q: Why create a 3D acrylic dimensional logo sign?

A: It looks great! (oh, and it makes a positive statement about your organization, too!)

And when we combine other accents with dimensional acrylic, we can really create something unique for a client.  Take the Carl Smith Pipeline logo, for example.

2D logo design

When the logo's design team sent this to us, we immediately had some fun ideas regarding ways in which we could create this in three dimensions while achieving a cost-effective, visually-attractive logo sign for the client's reception area.

The black was easy; laser-cut dimensional acrylic is readily fabricated into custom font styles and shapes.  We knew we could use our large format printing capabilities to digitally print the logo's mountain and preserve the design's color gradient, and we felt that combining a matte finish on the digital print would create a nice contrast against the gloss black background.

But how to create the mountain's shadow?  One of our team came up with the solution: clear dimensional acrylic with a face of vinyl that has the appearance of frosted or etched glass.

Put the assembly on a nice piece of clear acrylic mounted with satin finish aluminum architectural standoff hardware, and the finished piece looked great!  (don't be turned off by the wall color - that is actually a problem with our camera ... the painted color actually looked much better!)
