A custom indoor business sign for a Nashville law firm

This week we're highlighting the custom indoor business sign we developed for the law firm of Martin Sir and Associates in Nashville.  The construction of the sign incorporates several attractive sign features that we feel are worth considering for any indoor business signs including logo signs for a business lobby or reception area.

In keeping with the rich, dark stain of the furniture used in the law firm's offices, the back panel of the custom sign was cut from a high grade of plywood with a hardwood veneer.  We stained and finished the wood to look similar to the office furniture.

To create some interesting dimensionality, we incorporated a secondary sign panel made of frosted acrylic.  The acrylic and the wood panels were joined together by metal architectural display hardware called "standoffs."  These particular standoffs are aluminum with a satin finish.

The firm's logo lettering was cut from burgundy and black sheet acrylic using a laser process that polishes the edges and leaves them glossy and presentable for immediate assembly into the indoor business sign.  The face of the raw acrylic is protected with a paper layer that we leave on until the logo sign is completely installed.  This helps keep both scratches and fingerprints away from the high gloss acrylic finish.

The completed assembly of this custom indoor business sign was really quite attractive, and we enjoyed the opportunity to combine several different materials to create depth and dimension in a visually interesting display.  The client had challenged us to create their business logo sign in a way that would convey professionalism and status to their high-end clientele, and we'd like to think we accomplished that goal!

(and in case you've been following our activities for some time, we admit that this is not from our most recent projects ... but those have all been shipped to out-of-state clients, and we don't have final pictures of those signs hanging on their new owners' walls!)

How can we help you with your indoor business signs, whether they are for display of your company logo or are for the purpose of decor or of communication regarding product, services, or success stories?
