Brushed metal lobby signs look great!

We're excited to share examples of brushed metal lobby signs that really look terrific (in our humble opinion!).  We recently completed a lobby sign for Advanced Scientifics (ASI) that uses a combination of a brushed aluminum sign face on a clear acrylic backer.

Although we often use either solid brushed metal or a darker backer material to create a logo or lobby sign, the use of clear acrylic as the backer for ASI's sign really plays well with the bright brushed aluminum face and the light against the dark blue wall color.

ASI's brushed metal lobby sign was fastened to the wall using what we refer to as "studs" and "spacers" to create connections to the wall that also provide a uniform standoff gap.  This approach gives the sign additional dimensionality and visual interest.

The brushed metal and clear acrylic components for ASI's sign were sandwiched together with an adhesive layer and then cut to shape with a router.  The end result, as hopefully these pictures reveal, was a very nice looking display.

When considering a layered approach like this, we can use brushed metal materials that have a silver, gold, or even a brass color.  The secondary layer of acrylic can be one of several standard colors, or it can even be painted a custom color.

This lobby sign example shown below for Franklin Synergy Bank used a brushed gold face with a black foam backer instead of acrylic.  These letters and logo were very lightweight and were installed using double sided tape flush against the wall behind the "teller row."  This combination is also much more economical than solid metal sign letters.

Lobby signs can also use brushed metal as a sign panel to support a logo and dimensional sign letters.

Using a thin layer of brushed metal material with a thicker, less expensive material such as acrylic or foam lets us create lobby signs that look terrific but that don't have to break the bank!  Please refer to this other page of our website where you can see examples of other indoor lobby and logo signs.
