12-Point SignWorks' Signage Projects Of The Week

This Dimensional Acrylic Directory Sign is Heading to Florida

Posted on September 29, 2014 | Posted by Kris Williamson

We have many opportunities to create signage that will appear outside of Middle Tennessee - or even Tennessee itself!  This directory sign will be shipped to Delray Beach, Florida later this week.  We were contacted by a contracting company there and given the task of matching an existing directory sign in the same building.  We only received a photo and dimensions to reference, but the finished product is a great match to the original.

This acrylic directory sign matches the first floor original.

We used a white acrylic backer for this directory sign.  The backer will be mounted flush against the wall.  A laser cutting process was used to create the custom dimensional acrylic shape of the sign as well as the tenant plates that display the various suite numbers.  Aluminum standoffs with a satin finish separate the white acrylic backer from the custom non-glare acrylic piece that is assembled on top.  We cut maroon and white vinyl for the lettering on the tenant plates and on the white backer.

Aluminum standoffs in a satin finish separate the two pieces of acryclic and add to the dimensional look of the sign.

The aluminum standoffs offer easy access to the tenant plates in the event that the vinyl lettering needs to be changed.  The top cap will unscrew to expose the tenant plates.  Since the plates are mounted onto the white acrylic backer by standoff snap connectors, they easily pop off of the backer if needed.  This allows for effortless movement of the tenant plates as times change and businesses relocate.  You can't get much easier than this!

Standoff snap connectors provide a simple way to mount the tenant plates to the acrylic backer.

Although this sign is being shipped out-of-state, the client will have no problem installing it without having us there.  The white acrylic backer provides a template for placement of the screws on the wall.  The aluminum standoffs will be used to screw the white backer to the wall.  The top cap attaches the non-glare acrylic piece to the backer - and voilà!  After the directory sign is on the wall, simple dusting or cleaning with a damp microfiber cloth or mild soap and water solution will keep it looking classy.

Acrylic signage offers many different options for customization so we can certainly create the look you desire.  If you are looking for your own directory sign or any other interior signage, click the button below to start a conversation with us and to get a free quote.  Remember... we can ship to you!
