We were approached by Dr. Amanda Berry with Berry Eyecare & Artistic Eyewear to create custom vehicle graphics for her Volkswagen Bug. Dr. Berry wanted "something that reflected the vibe of Berry Eyecare - fun and creative." As you can see by the photos on their website, fun and creative definitely describes the ambiance of Berry Eyecare. Since opening in 1993, the locally owned Green Hills office has served Nashville residents with state-of-the-art equipment and advanced technology. They have a large selection of designer eyeglasses and sunglasses from around the world, which makes a visit to their office a true experience.
Dr. Berry met with Rich, our Director of Wrap Installation, after a few attempts with other design companies had not produced the results that she wanted. Dr. Berry brought in a design that did not grasp what she saw as the creative vision of Berry Eyecare. Rich took her ideas and created the bright lime green daisies. The lime green color is close to PMS369, which Dr. Berry liked. She also wanted her wordmark logo and contact information to be large and visible - a must when your patients may be having vision problems! In Dr. Berry's words, "I wanted the letters to be large so that if someone needed an eye examination, they could see them!" Rich combined all of Dr. Berry's ideas into a subtle and fun design that represents the office perfectly.
Rich added an extra special touch to this installation with custom interior graphics. (You can see Zane installing some of them in the photo above!) The graphics make the interior of the car just as fun as the exterior, with the daisies and office logo on the door panels and the painted interior surfaces. Just wait until you see this cute VW with the top down!
As for the technical details, we digitally printed the lime green spot graphics on Avery MPI 1005 vinyl with an Avery DOL 1360 cast digital overlaminate. The Avery 1360 overlaminate is more conformable, which makes vehicle wrap installations even easier. Since these were custom spot graphics, the use of this overlaminate made the various sizes of the daisies easier to install around the contours and edges of the VW bug. The logo and contact information were cut from 3M 7125 cast black vinyl. The use of black vinyl for the logo and contact information really stands out against the lighter color of the car and the graphics...even if you need an eye exam!
We always enjoy working with our local businesses and creating something new and fresh for their mobile advertising needs. Hopefully, we will be able to add custom graphics to Dr. Berry's next vehicle! We always appreciate the comments and reviews of our clients, and Dr. Berry shared a very kind one with us when she said, "The next time I need a wrap, I will just simply go to 12-Point SignWorks. They have a computer program designed specifically for car wraps. Other companies don't have the same technology. It makes a difference." We do try to use the most up-to-date vehicle templates when we design our wraps and vehicle graphics. Not only does it help with the overall presentation of the designs, but it also guarantees accuracy when we print!
