Just last week, an exciting event happened in Nashville. The community gathered around to celebrate the launch of Urban Green Lab's new mobile lab. Urban Green Lab is a nonprofit that offers workshops and educational opportunities for our community to learn how to incorporate sustainability into our daily lives. With the addition of their mobile lab, they now can reach even more diverse and underserved populations in our Metro Nashville Public Middle and High Schools. We were proud to be a part of the finishing touches on the mobile lab by designing, producing, and installing the custom trailer wrap for them.
We began this project at the end of last year, when we originally met with Urban Green Lab (UGL) to begin the advertising wrap design. We worked with the logos and graphics provided by UGL to create a colorful, crisp design that illustrated their purpose in a manner that would be exciting to the community. To show their immense gratitude, UGL made sure that the layout recognized the businesses and organizations that have supported them in their journey. (Check out the back of the trailer where they give a shout-out to all of their sponsors!)
Once we had the design exactly how they wanted it, we moved on to production. Since we created the design on a template of the trailer, we used the design to make print files. From the print files, we digitally printed the graphics onto high-performance wrap vinyl with a protective gloss laminate. We had the vinyl ready when the trailer arrived at our shop.
After we backed the trailer into our installation area, we prepped it for the wrap application. The wrap was designed to cover every white section of the trailer.
Here is the trailer in our shop, waiting for its new wrap. That's a lot of area to cover!
We had the trailer in our shop for a few days to complete the installation. The design also called for cut vinyl graphics that we installed on the trailer once the full coverage wrap was in place.
Done! The trailer is vacating our building! We created digitally printed magnets of the Urban Green Lab logo and the Nissan (founding partner) logo for use on the Nissan Titan pulling the mobile lab.
The colors are so bright and happy - they make you want to be outside! I love the little butterflies on the wrap design. It also features our Nashville skyline.
We actually changed the door on the design from a wooden door to the blue door above. It's my favorite part of the entire wrap!
Although we wanted to feature the mobile lab trailer wrap as a Project of the Week right away, we had to be patient. UGL actually had a special Urban Green Lab Mobile Lab Launch on Tuesday, February 16, at the W.O. Smith Music School. Supporters, volunteers, media, and more were invited to see the official ribbon cutting of the mobile lab. We weren't able to attend, but we've enjoyed watching videos of the event on the UGL Facebook page!
Here are some official photos from the event that UGL shared with us! The photo on the right gives a little peek at the exciting activities inside the mobile lab.

We know how excited UGL is about this project, and we are thrilled to be a part of it too. They are extremely thankful for the support they have received as the mobile lab has come together. Part of the cut vinyl decals we installed on the trailer are the logos of all of the supporters and sponsors for this project. You can see them in the photo to the right. (We are happy to be on there too!)
The back of the trailer also has a large door that becomes an entrance into the mobile lab. It's the side that has the large UGL logo in the photo.
We hope to have a chance to tour the mobile lab sometime soon. We know it will make a huge impact on our community - and it will look fantastic doing it! :)
We've enjoyed helping out our local nonprofit organizations with their advertising needs. If you want to see more, check out the wraps we've done for Community Food Advocates and Habitat for Humanity Williamson-Maury.
