This Project of the Week was for a client in the Fort Point area of Boston, MA. A far cry from its industrial origins these days, many consider the Fort Point neighborhood to be one of New England's largest artist communities. Once home to a fort that guarded the city in colonial times, Fort Point is now a walkable neighborhood with fantastic restaurants, breweries, and old industrial factory buildings that have found new life as gorgeous loft-style apartments.
Our client wanted signage to hang in his unit that was reminiscent of the area: industrial, historic, rustic. We've created aged, industrial metal signage for previous clients and knew it would perfectly fit his vision. The custom 1/8" thick sign measured 24"w x 12"h and was stencil-cut out of weathered Corten steel. The client then mounted it to an exposed brick wall in their unit and added backlighting that really lets it stand out, night or day!
