We met this customer in November 2015 as he was preparing for a 10,000 mile journey. He was planning a promotional tour to celebrate 40 years of ministry with Wycliffe Bible Translators. He had ideas about the partial advertising wrap he wanted for his 2010 KIA Soul, and he wanted our help putting all of his thoughts together. He knew it would take time to get everything just right, and we appreciate his forethought in planning ahead. Luckily, with the extra time available, we were able to add a retractable banner graphic, a table runner, and book cover design to the project list!
In addition to photos of his KIA Soul, our customer (a.k.a. Ed!) provided us with the map below, indicating all of the stops he would be making on his 10,000 mile adventure. Ed initially wanted to include the map in the vehicle wrap layout; however, his vision changed throughout the design process.
Ed begins his journey in May and will return sometime in July. He sure is covering a lot of ground on his Grand 40 Tour!
We worked with Ed to get the layout for his vehicle wrap just right. We used his celebratory message (40 years of ministry is a long time!), the Wycliffe logo and contact information, his destination stops, and a creative graphic for the back of the vehicle.
The neutral color of Ed's KIA Soul created the perfect background for the graphics he wanted. The passenger side of the car includes the contact information for Wycliffe Bible Translators USA.
His vehicle lists the stops on his tour - in the order of the route he is taking! Is he coming to a city near you? His stops include locations in the USA and Canada. The driver's side of the car features the website URL and phone number for Wycliffe Bible Translators of Canada.
The wrap on the back of the vehicle includes the Wycliffe and Grand 40 Tour logos, as well as a depiction of the places in the world that still need Bible translation. Looks like there is still a lot of work to do!
This graphic will definitely catch the attention of anyone driving behind it.
One advantage of vehicle graphics over paint is that they can be removed! Once Ed is done with his trip, he will bring the KIA Soul back to our shop so that we can remove the graphics and he can have his regular vehicle back. Easy as that!
Since Ed made a few visits to our shop during the process, he was able to see and talk to us about additional signage needs he had for his trip. We were happy to assist him as he prepared for his journey.
One project he had in the works was a new book that was ready for print. The book, entitled Burn Your Bed: The surprising story behind the 500th New Testament translation, was released on April 8, and can be found on Amazon.com. We assisted Ed with some of the final details on the layout of the book cover (front and back). It was exciting to see how happy he was to see it all come together - just as he envisioned it!
With the book design complete, Ed had two more items he wanted for his Grand 40 Tour. We designed and fabricated a 24" x 66" open back table runner that he could use during his stops. The table runner drapes down the front of a 30" tall table, across the top, and the the back approximately 6". Table runners add the perfect touch to a bland, regular table and really personalize the space.
The other project was a new retractable banner graphic. Since Ed already had a retractable banner stand that he wanted to use, we helped him with the design he had in mind and made a new banner graphic for his trip. We removed the old banner, installed the new one, and he was ready to go!
Here is a portion of the retractable banner graphic, featuring his new book! The graphic also includes the Grand 40 Tour logo.
We enjoy the design and fabrication process of any job, but we also relish in the happiness that it brings our customers. Such was the case with Ed. He brought so much joy into everything that we created for him. This journey is based on love and faith, and we were able to assist with bringing it all together for him. Success for everyone!
