12-Point SignWorks' Signage Projects Of The Week

Custom Signage Brings a Cheerful Look to Project 615’s Nashvember

Posted on November 19, 2018 | Posted by 12-Point SignWorks

Project 615 is a well-known apparel company with a mission to help the homeless population in the Nashville area. Each year, this wonderful organization coordinates a fun event called Nashvember to raise funds for The Bridge. We were honored to print bright and cheery custom signage for this event. Let’s take a look at how these signs were created!

For this project, we worked with HubXM, a popular marketing agency in the Nashville area. HubXM provided the event artwork, and our designer prepared the digital files for printing. Because the majority of the signs were meant to be used only for this one event, we used less expensive (yet sturdy) substrates such as banner material, corrugated plastic and foam board. Prior to printing, we submitted proofs of all the signs so that HubXM and Project 615 could visualize the final products.

Once we received approval on the proofs, we started the printing and fabrication process. We printed the banner using our wide format HP printer. The corrugated plastic and foam board signs were printed on our digital flatbed printer. We cut the individual signs using our digital flatbed cutter.

Here’s a list of the signs we created for Nashvember:

  1. Welcome Banner
  2. Bike Rack Barricade Welcome Signs (4)
  3. Circle-Shaped Pole Signs (3)
  4. Project 615 Thanks Our Sponsors Sign
  5. Sponsor Signs (6)
  6. Restroom Signs (4)
  7. A-Frame Parking Signs (4)
  8. Photo/Video Policy Signs (2)
  9. Prohibited Items Signs
  10. Security Screening Signs (2)
  11. Vendor/Exhibitor/Sponsor Check-In Sign

Once the rigid signs were cut, many were outfitted with grommets, like the Project 615 sign pictured below. Grommets are small metal rings typically used in signage. The grommet’s purpose is to provide a reinforced hole through which rope or cable can pass. The reinforcement allows the sign to be hung without the material tearing.

Here’s a look at the larger circle-shaped signs that were hung throughout the event space, Track One. We love the fun artwork that was created for Nashvember!

About Project 615:

Co-owners Derek Evans & Matt Blinco decided to start Project 615 in 2010 as a fundraising and awareness effort for the homeless. They wanted to create t-shirts and apparel to help change the world and give second chances. Since then, Project 615 has donated more than $450,000 to world changing causes and employed more than 50 people recovering from homelessness and addiction.

About The Bridge:

Based in Nashville, the Bridge provides weekly hot meals, groceries, hygiene items and clothing to homeless individuals who live and gather under the Jefferson Street Bridge in Nashville. They also meet the spiritual needs of those individuals by ministering the Gospel in word and song. Their goal is to bring awareness to hunger and homelessness, and to motivate people to be passionate for the poor.
