The City of Franklin’s Sanitation and Environmental Services Department is rolling out a new program called Blue Bin Recycling which will provide curb-side pickup for recyclable items. We were hired to print, laminate and install custom truck wraps to promote the program. Let’s take a closer look at this fun project!

The nation’s recycling industry has recently changed the way recyclable commodities are collected and managed. Plastic bags are now considered a contaminate of the recycling waste stream. As a result, the collection of recyclable materials in blue bags will be eliminated from Franklin’s recycling program.

Franklin city residents can now opt in to receive blue bins for curb-side pickup beginning in January. Paper, cardboard, certain plastics, aluminum and steel cans can be placed in the containers. For more information about the Blue Bin program, click here.

In order to get residents on board and excited about the program, the city hired us to print and install custom truck wraps on three sanitation trucks. The artwork for this project was provided by the City of Franklin. The photo below shows the graphics as they were printed on high performance wrap vinyl.

The graphics were color tested and then printed on one of our large format HP printers. 

Our installers applied a protective UV gloss laminate to the vinyl panels and cut away the white edges to prepare for installation.

Notice the big, bold graphics and large text in this digitally printed panel. Just enough to get the message across quickly!

We also printed and cut temporary yellow magnets that say “Delivery Begins Jan. 2020.” These magnets will be removed after the program officially begins.

This wrap will definitely get noticed. Lookin' good City of Franklin! 

The City of Franklin made a very wise choice when they selected vinyl wraps to promote their new program. As compared to a one-time newspaper, magazine or radio advertisement, these “mobile billboards” will continue promoting the program throughout Franklin for years to come!
