Over the summer, we featured acrylic logo signs that we designed and fabricated for Lancaster Christian Academy in Smyrna, Tennessee. They were extremely happy with how the signs turned out, which makes us happy too! Recently, they contacted us about adding two new signs for their Lancaster Christian Academy Alternative Education department. Since we designed the original acrylic signage, we easily modified the proof to add 'Alternative Education' to the logo.
The bright acrylic in standard colors really pops against the brick exterior. The addition of the 'Alternative Education' line fit right in.
The school loves the pops of color the original dimensional logo signs create in the entrances of the school, so we simply added the additional text on a new line of purple. More color! We updated the template to show the addition. Once we got approval from the school, we started production.

In a previous blog post, we mentioned that it can be difficult for customers to visualize their future signage from just a proof. Lucky for us, Lancaster Christian Academy (LCA) already has two completed signs to see how the acrylic material and colors will look. It was much easier for them to visualize the addition of the purple line for their new signs.
LCA requested two different sizes for the new sign layout. They wanted a smaller (18"W x 13"H) sign for the exterior entrance and a larger (47"W x 35"H) sign for the interior entrance area.
Just like the originals, the 'Alternative Education' signs were fabricated in layers. We started with 1/4" thick clear routed backers. To the backers, we bonded laser cut acrylic in the green, blue, red, orange and purple colors. We used a paint mask template over the colors to determine the precise location for the laser cut white acrylic letters. Once those were bonded to the colors, we removed the template to reveal the new logo signs.
Putting it all together! Torrence is bonding the acrylic pieces to the clear acrylic backer. You can see the yellow templates in the background that he used to adhere the white letters to the sign.
We provided the installation for the signs at their location in Smyrna, TN. The smaller sign was installed on the brick exterior next to the entrance door. The larger sign was installed on slats that were already installed on a feature wall (with fun, bright paint!) in the front entrance area.
What a difference a sign makes! The colors really stand out at the entrance.
Bright, lively colors greet you when you walk into the 'Alternative Education' front entrance. We installed the sign on the slats of the feature wall.
Signage strengthens brands, fosters the feeling of unity, and creates logo recognition. The addition of two new signs for LCA does all three of these! We love being involved with projects like this and working with our customers as they expand their custom sign needs. Maybe an advertising wrap for a school vehicle is in their future!
