Custom dimensional logo signs are one of our most popular products. Customers love them, because they bring brands to life with depth and visual appeal that can’t be achieved in standard, flat signs. We recently fabricated and installed a logo sign for McDonald Insurance & Financial Services in Franklin, TN. As you will see, this dimensional sign leaves a beautiful impression!

This striking dimensional logo sign looks great against the gray wall in the main lobby of McDonald Insurance and Financial Services.

We began this project by working with the company’s founder, Brooks McDonald. He provided the corporate logo, company colors and gave us direction on the design and materials. Because the logo contains a torch, he also asked that we incorporate backlighting into the sign. Our designer prepared the artwork, included fabrication details, and created a proof so that the final logo sign could be clearly visualized.

We provide proofs similar to this to all of our custom signage customers.

After we received approval from Brooks, our team began fabricating the sign. Here are the layers that were included in this custom sign:

1. Base Panel - The 60” x 22” base panel was created using ¼” frosted acrylic. The white gradient background (which creates the illusion of light beams coming out of the lantern) was printed second surface, on the back of the base panel. Solid blue vinyl was then applied to the entire back surface of the sign to create the blue color. The area that looks like glass panes in the lantern was not covered with vinyl to allow light to pass through.
2. Lantern & Large “McDONALD” Letters - The lantern and larger letters were laser cut from ¼” white and gray acrylic.
3. Small Letters - The smaller letters were laser cut from ⅛” white acrylic.

After the individual pieces were cut, we created a template to ensure the lantern and letters were placed in the correct positions on the base panel.

This yellow vinyl template allowed us to place the letters and torch properly on the sign. We create these types of templates for all of our custom signs.

After the new logo sign was completed, we installed it in the main lobby using satin finish aluminum standoffs. Standoffs create an eye-catching, dimensional effect, because they allow signs to “stand off” from the wall.

The best part about this custom logo sign is the lantern! We installed an LED light box on the back of the lantern’s window panes. The light illuminates through the frosted acrylic, creating a beautiful effect. We love this elegant look!
