Magic City Rock Gym in Miami, FL is known as one of the top climbing facilities in the U.S. With over 14,000 square feet of climbing space, this gym offers something for everyone. We were recently hired to fabricate a unique wood and metal logo sign to show off the gym’s branding. Check out this striking dimensional sign!

We love the look of rustic steel against wood in this sign.

This project was brought to us by Pinnacle Spades in Jacksonville, FL. To create the sign, we started with two 36” diameter ½” thick plywood disks which were contour cut to include the scroll features of the Magic City logo. We printed the logo graphics directly on the face of each disk. 

These disks were digitally printed on our flatbed printer.

We then attached the disks to a larger wood backer using spacers with hex head bolt hardware. The spacers were 1 ½” tall to create a nice dimensional look.

The heads of the black hex bolts were disguised in the black ink on the face of each disk.

The words “Magic City” were water-jet cut from 14-gauge steel. These 48” wide interconnected words were installed on the front face of the wood disks. The beauty of the steel is that it naturally took on a rusty appearance from processing, which is exactly the look the owners were going for!

The steel lettering added the perfect finishing touch!

We installed ¼” thick aluminum cleat bars on the back of the sign to help with installation. This gorgeous sign was then packed up and shipped to the gym. We’re happy to report they’re thrilled with their new custom sign!

This might just be one of our new favorites! We love seeing this logo recreated in a dimensional wood and metal sign. Very cool!
