Partial Vehicle Wrap Helps Expand D.A.R.E. Program in Robertson County

Drug resistance education, especially for our children, has always been an important endeavor. Law enforcement officers understand the critical need to educate students early about the dangers of drugs, gangs and violence. In an effort to promote the local D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program in Robertson County, the local sheriff’s office commissioned us to design and install a vehicle wrap on their newest vehicle. We think you’ll agree the transformation from plain cop car to cool D.A.R.E. mobile was pretty exciting!

Over the past few years, we’ve been privileged to wrap a large variety of vehicles for the Robertson County Sheriff’s office. In addition to several D.A.R.E. cars, we’ve wrapped a large RV trailer command post, golf cart, Mustang and an ATV. We’ve also designed and applied graphics to a pop-up tent for the police officers. Each project has been unique, so we’re always excited when we receive their call!

To get this project started, our graphic designer talked with Sergeant Charlie Clark to discuss the vehicle wrap design. We’ve worked with Sergeant Clark on several D.A.R.E. wraps over the past few years. He explained that he wanted the black 2012 Chevrolet Impala to have the same general layout as the other recently wrapped D.A.R.E. cars, but with an entirely new theme. He even said, “Surprise me!” So needless to say ... we were excited to get started! :-)

Before photo of the plain black 2012 Chevrolet Impala. 12-Point SignWorks - Franklin, TN This was the plain black 2012 Chevrolet Impala that the Robertson County Sheriff's office brought into our shop. It looked more like an undercover car ... until we wrapped it!

Our graphic designer first created a proof to ensure Sergeant Clark was happy with the layout prior to printing and installation. We suggested the car be wrapped with a partial vehicle wrap with a cool, futuristic industrial-themed design. To keep a somewhat consistent look with the most recent D.A.R.E. vehicles, our designer placed the D.A.R.E. letters on the front doors and trunk, the Robertson County officers’ badge on the hood and rear doors, and the Robertson County Sheriff’s office decal on the rear panels. As you can see, the layout was designed to look great with the car’s original factory black paint.

Creative Proof for New Robertson County D.A.R.E. Car. 12-Point SignWorks - Franklin, TN Our designer used his creative genius to create this cool design proof for Sgt. Clark. We provide similar proofs to all of our vehicle wrap clients.

Once Sergeant Clark gave us an enthusiastic thumbs up on the proof, we printed the vehicle wrap design on high performance vinyl with a protective UV gloss laminate for added protection from the sun. We installed the partial vinyl wrap on the vehicle, using care to align all the details exactly as the proof indicated.

This installation included wrapping the back door handles to create a complete look on the large gold-colored badge. We also installed white reflective contour cut decals for the D.A.R.E. letters on the front doors and the Robertson County Sheriff lettering on the rear panels and back bumper. The decals added a dimensional look that reflects light at night!

The newly wrapped Impala adds a unique and different look to the growing Robertson County D.A.R.E. fleet. Other D.A.R.E. cars we’ve recently wrapped for the sheriff’s office include the following themes: American Flag, split American flag/State of Tennessee flag, and The U.S. Constitution.
