The Predicament: Every year, new and improved (sometimes!) vehicle models are revealed by automobile makers. Nissan North America wanted a way to display their latest models, including some new ones for 2016, on retractable banners.

The Solution: A fabulous way to feature something special is with tradeshow display pieces. We took the brand standards, logos and product photographs provided by Nissan and designed retractable banner displays for five vehicle models.

From color change wraps on personal vehicles to custom advertising wraps on NV cargo vans, we are fortunate to work on a great number of projects that involve the Nissan brand. Lucky for us, we also have a partnership with the folks at the corporate headquarters for Nissan North America here in Franklin. (Yup, we're pretty much neighbors!) When they contacted us about their need for retractable banners, we were happy to help! Here's how we did it:

Design

Basically, Nissan North America gave us the information, and we used some design magic to create the individual banners. That doesn't explain much, does it? Here's what actually happened. We were sent the logos and photographs of the front and side of each vehicle. Nissan requested that we place the model name at the bottom of the banner and the vehicle images within the bulk of the live area.

We used the brand standards provided by Nissan to ensure that the images and logos were formatted properly. By combining all of the digital assets, we designed individual banners for the Leaf, Rogue, Murano, Maxima and Titan. (Special fun fact: The model name on the bottom of each banner is a wordmark logo for that vehicle, and each has a specific font.)

We sent the banner proofs to Nissan, and they made a few adjustments. Once everything was just the way they wanted, the banners were ready for print.

Print

We printed the graphics on 13 ounce curl-free banner material with double-sided blockout. This premier fabric provides superior color clarity and surface smoothness. With the vibrant colors of the vehicle models, the quality of the banner fabric was a crucial component for obtaining eye-catching results.

Assembly

Our experience with trade show items and display pieces gives us first-hand knowledge of presentation products. We have a product line by Spennare available that offers a large variety of hardware options. For this predicament, the Roll Up Penta retractable banner system was the perfect fit. It is lightweight, compact and very easy to assemble and take apart. It comes with a convenient fabric carry bag to safely transport its contents to various locations. More than anything, the Roll Up Penta system offers a very clean and classic look that makes you notice the vehicles on these banners and not the stands themselves.

We put together the banners in our shop to ensure that they looked right and fit properly. We always test the products in our shop for quality control. It's just one way that we strive to make sure every project leaves our shop looking great and working correctly. As you can see below, the banners make quite a statement. 

You may notice that the banner for the Nissan Titan is missing in the photo above. We fabricated that banner a little later because we were waiting for the photos of the new 2016 model. Here is the proof of the design.
