We are proud to have strong relationships with our local law enforcement agencies for their custom signage and vehicle wrap projects. Lately, it seems like we need to show a little more appreciation for those quality folks in our area who sacrifice so much for our safety. As I thought about this, a recent project came to mind. It involves a local business, Nashville K-9, that offers dog training programs, including programs for Police K-9, Fire, SAR, and the Office of Emergency Management. Not only that, they provide up to two trained canines every year to our Tennessee police departments at no charge. Pretty amazing if you ask me!
We've had the pleasure of working with Nashville K-9 over the last few years on a number of projects to promote and strengthen their brand. Recently, we assisted with the customer-designed vinyl graphics for two of the Nashville K-9 vehicles: a Hummer H1 (2000) and a Chevy Tahoe (2015).

Our 12-Point SignWorks team offers a variety of graphic design options for our customers. For Nashville K-9, we worked directly with one of the team members to refine the design until it was just right. Not only did we work on the size and placement of the logo and business information, but we also tested several vinyl color and texture combinations until we finally got the layout just the way they wanted it.
The final design combines a custom cut satin black vinyl stripe with added cut vinyl lettering in gloss white. The satin black gives the perfect amount of contrast to the black vehicle paint, and the gloss white promotes the brand with a classy, professional look. Nothing stands out more than bright white on a black background (or vice versa), right?
This is one tough looking ride! The vinyl graphics really stand out against the black.
Since we installed the graphics on two different types of vehicles, we had to adjust the design to fit each one individually. Also, if you look at the two photos below, you can see the differences in the angles on the body of the Hummer H1 versus the Tahoe. The H1 has much deeper cuts and angles that our expert installers took the time and expertise to follow.
From this angle, you can see how deep the vinyl cuts in around the rear door window to follow the body lines. Although the H1 has lots of contour changes, our installers know how to place the vinyl so that the message looks just right. It's all about the attention to detail!
Nashville K-9 wanted the layout to be a little different on the back of the Tahoe to avoid having any vinyl on the rear window. When designing an advertising wrap or vinyl graphics for any vehicle, you always have that flexibility to place the graphics exactly where you want them.
Nashville K-9 doesn't just offer services for law enforcement agencies. They also offer:
- Dog obedience training
- Area demonstrations
- Pet First Aid instruction
- A quality breeding program
- Personal protection training
- Trained entertainment dogs for commercial video advertisements
- Partnerships with reputable businesses and organizations
- Much, much more!
If you are interested in what Nashville K-9 has to offer, contact them for more information. They are extremely professional and serious about the services that they provide, and they look forward to working with you. Watch for their custom vehicles on the road! The black and white combination truly makes them stand out and be noticed.
