Two Thompsons Catering Gets Vinyl Graphics on Their Airstream Trailer

Posted on July 21, 2015 | Posted by Kris Williamson

There's nothing that says 'vintage' quite like an Airstream trailer. Partner this classic with Two Thompsons Catering, and you have a pretty perfect (and delicious!) combination.

Two Thompsons is a full service catering company that creates fresh, southern style menu items to fit any gathering. They recently contacted us to install custom vinyl graphics on their newly acquired Airstream trailer. The graphics were designed by Brian Bruzewski at Zanimal, LLC. We worked with Brian to coordinate the file set-up and the design requirements needed to get the graphics just right, and he provided us with the vector art to use on both sides and the back of the trailer.

One side of the finished product as it leaves our shop! With the row of windows, the logo and lettering were placed along the length of the side. (We changed it up for the other side...read on to see how and why!)

Once we had everything we needed from Brian, we prepared the files for print. Since the brand colors for Two Thompsons are brown and white, we color matched the brown in their logo to the brown being produced by our printer. We found that PMS 4625 provided the best match to the brand color. (It's amazing how just a shade or two can make a huge difference!)

It was exciting to watch the vintage Airstream enter our shop space. There were some graphics already on the trailer that Two Thompsons wanted to have removed. We took those off and prepped the trailer for the installation of the new graphics.

This is how the Airstream looked when it first came to us. The decals we removed were on the back.

The funny thing about trailers and food trucks is that they can have interesting latches, plugs, connectors and hook-ups in various (and sometimes sort of inconvenient) places. We work around those areas the best possible way so that the installed graphics are in just the right places. Sometimes the accessories actually fit into the design perfectly!

The first 'o' in Thompsons fit perfectly over the hook-up on the back of the trailer. Couldn't plan that any better, if you ask me!

Here is a view of the trailer's other side as it leaves our shop. As you can see, the logo was modified to fit the open space between the single window and door.

Although the Two Thompsons trailer is complete, you won't be seeing it on the road quite yet. They are still in the preparation mode as they get ready to cater out of it and to take it on the road to various food truck events and festivals. They are scheduled to have it appear at the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival here in our beloved Franklin on September 26 and 27. Make sure you stop by and say hello!

Until then, you can still use Two Thompsons Catering for all of your entertaining needs. Really, you need to at least read their menu items. You will be finding a reason to have them cater an event for you once you have checked them out. Yum.

Advertising with cut vinyl graphics is a perfect way to show off your brand - especially if you don't want to cover the amazing vintage Airstream trailer that you have!
