Golf carts offer the perfect solution for traveling efficiently and conveniently around a factory or even on a college campus. They also offer a small but mighty canvas for advertising. We recently completed golf cart wraps for two of our established customers, Precision Engineering and Vanderbilt University basketball.
You may remember the two partial advertising wraps we completed for Precision Engineering not too long ago. To continue their branding, they asked us to wrap their golf cart with the same design. They eventually will use it in one of the manufacturing facilities in the area, and this is an effective way to identify that the golf cart belongs to them.
Here is a view of the finished product in our shop! You can see how the golf cart replicates the layout on the company trucks by checking out the blog post here.
Once we had the golf cart in our shop, we took measurements to create a custom template for the layout. We adapted the design that we created in-house for the trucks to the template, and we sent Precision Engineering a proof. After we received the approval to move forward, we started the installation process.
The paint on the golf cart was a pale beige color, similar to the color of the seat and canopy top. Since the design uses crisp white, we started the installation with a full coverage white vinyl wrap. After the body of the golf cart was covered in white, we added the cut vinyl graphics.
We digitally printed the graphics on Avery MPI 1005 high-performance wrap vinyl with an Avery DOL 1060 protective gloss overlaminate. Just like the two Dodge trucks, we custom cut the edges of the vinyl to create the "torn edge" look. We applied the custom cut vinyl to the front, sides, and back of the golf cart. We even continued the design under the seat. With the white background, the design really makes this golf cart stand out!
You can see a little glimpse of the graphics that curve underneath the seat in the photo above.
With the full coverage white vinyl, it's hard to see the edges of the cut vinyl graphics unless you are right next to the golf cart.
For the Vanderbilt University basketball golf cart, we used a custom vinyl wrap design provided by the school. Luckily, the golf cart was delivered to us mostly disassembled. This saves quite a bit of prep time since we only had to remove the rear seat frame to have full access to all areas that would be wrapped.
This proof shows the design and all of the vinyl pieces that were printed, laminated, cut, and applied to the Vanderbilt basketball golf cart.
We made some adjustments to fit the template of the golf cart, and we also removed some lettering from the design they provided. Not to worry - we added the lettering back as cut vinyl graphics to ensure that they were properly positioned on the cart. Just like the Precision Engineering golf cart design, we digitally printed the graphics on Avery MPI 1005 high-performance wrap vinyl with an Avery DOL 1060 protective gloss overlaminate. Unlike the Precision Engineering golf cart, we didn't have to start with a solid color wrap since the cart came to us black and the layout covers almost the entire body.
Here is a front view of the installed vinyl graphics for Vandy. The star and lettering were applied with cut vinyl graphics to ensure that they were perfectly centered on the hood of the cart.
We are still applying the final pieces to the Vandy cart so check back for the completed photos. We are anxious to see the cart around campus, representing the Vanderbilt University basketball team. We've also wrapped golf carts for the baseball and football teams.
