There’s nothing quite like some good ol’ southern slang to grab your attention. Sayings like “Don’t throw a hissy fit!” and “That stinks to high heaven!” just make life a little more entertaining! If you live, work or drive in lovely Franklin, TN, you may have seen catchy, southern expressions along with fun, retro photographs on our city’s sanitation trucks. We were honored to print and install the eye-catching partial truck wraps for the City of Franklin’s Sanitation and Environmental Services Division.
Franklin’s residents are proud of our beautiful, historic community and want to be sure it stays neat and clean for current and future generations to enjoy. As Franklin is experiencing rapid growth, our city leaders recognize the need to be proactive about litter before it becomes a larger issue.
After complaints were received and a litter survey was conducted, the City of Franklin launched the "Stay Classy Not Trashy Franklin" campaign to help prevent littering by creating witty, colorful graphics for the city’s sanitation trucks and social media channels. The graphics contain pink and blue backgrounds with large polka dots, amusing photographs of women who look like they’re from the 1950s, and fun southern expressions like “Bless your Heart!” and “Y’all Ain’t Right!”
Aren't these fun?! We love the witty artwork and southern expressions!
For this project, we received the artwork from the city’s Sanitation and Environmental Services Division. Our designer prepped the two layouts for printing, and then the 130” x 58” graphics were digitally printed on high-quality vinyl material. We applied a gloss laminate to the vinyl for UV protection to help the partial wraps remain vibrant for many years.
Here's our printer in action! We digitally printed the graphics on high performance vinyl material using our wide format HP printer.
Here’s a photo of one of the sanitation trucks before the truck wraps were installed. Just look at all that white space! Oh the possibilities! ;-)
Don't those white flat sections just scream "Wrap me!?" At least that's what we think! :-)
Our professional installers adhered the vinyl material to the flat sections on both sides of the truck. We placed different graphics on each side.
We worked with the Sanitation and Environmental Services Division to coordinate the installation process on four trucks over a two week period. We had to ensure that we finished the trucks in a timely manner to prevent trash pickup disruptions as much as possible.
Can you tell we had fun printing and installing these wraps? We just don't get to wrap cool sanitation trucks every day!
