Our good friend, Sandra Shepherd, understands the strong impact of mobile advertising. She’s invested in multiple vehicle wraps for her ministry over the past 11 years and has seen the benefits. We recently designed and installed an updated version of her Wooly Wagon themed custom car wrap. We love the creativity in this inspiring project!

The idea to drive a decorated vehicle began approximately 20 years ago when Sandra, associate pastor at Brenthaven Cumberland Presbyterian Church, was attending seminary school. During her senior year, she was asked to do a project. At the time, she was working with a local children’s ministry and decided to create a themed car to inspire and excite the children.

The first vehicle that Sandra decorated was a white Subaru Forester that she named the “Jeanster.” Of course, she wanted to make it really stand out. She didn’t know about vehicle wraps at the time, so she had the car custom painted by a local body shop to look like real denim. It turned out great, but the issue with the custom paint job came several years later when it was time to sell. Needless to say, there weren’t too many people in the market for a blue jean painted vehicle!

After driving the Jeanster for many years, Sandra decided it was time to purchase a newer car (a 2008 Toyota Rav4) and change up the design. By that time, she had begun to notice more digitally printed advertising wraps on the road. For her first car wrap design, Sandra decided to incorporate sheep in a field to represent the spiritual feeding of sheep (or disciples). She called her new car the “Wooly Wagon.” What a fun concept!

By 2012, the first wrap was looking worn and faded. Sandra had moved to Brentwood, TN and looked for a local shop to create a new wrap. Fortunately, that’s when she found us! We worked with Sandra to create a new, updated version of the Wooly Wagon. The photos below show the first two versions of the Wooly Wagon custom wrap.

The top photo shows the original Wooly Wagon wrap that was created in Louisville, KY. The bottom photo shows the 2nd version of the wrap that we designed and installed.

Recently, Sandra purchased a 2019 Toyota Rav4 and called us back to work on a new Wooly Wagon car wrap. (It was so much easier to sell her old Toyota after the last vinyl wrap was removed! :-) ) Our designer worked closely with Sandra to create an updated (but similar) design that incorporated larger sunflowers and swirling bees. She also asked for the design to include a favorite bible passage, John 21: 15-17. Check out the vibrant new design!

This wrap is a full coverage wrap, which also includes the roof. The photo below shows the partly cloudy sky. We love the extra touch!

This is the first time Sandra has had a complete, full coverage wrap. Her other wraps did not cover the roof.

Big, bold sunflowers were also added to the sides and back door on this car wrap. Beautiful!

As you can see, Sandra’s newly wrapped SUV is definitely a conversation starter, which is exactly what she wants in her line of work. It’s hard to look at the beautiful design on the car and not ask her what it’s all about. That’s the beauty of digitally printed vinyl. The design possibilities are endless!
